So today at work a coworker told me "I haven't been to your blog in a while, so how's Edward doing?"
And it made me realize that while I have posted pictures and moments, I haven't done a status update. So with Edward about to be 4 months old, this is a good time for a status update, don't you think?
Edward's trying very hard to roll over from his back to his tummy. He can kick his feet and get over onto his side, but he can't make it the rest of the way yet. Of course, he hates being on his stomach, so when he pulls it off, it's likely to make him very mad. :) Oh yes, and he's sitting up much better. Of course, he still needs to lean against something, and he falls over pretty easily, but he can stay upright by himself for a bit on a couch or chair.
He is teething, which means chewing on everything he can get into his mouth and drooling like mad. Generally he takes it pretty well, but sometimes the pain gets to him and he really appreciates the Tylenol that takes the edge off. Interestingly enough, he loves the taste of Tylenol. It's Cherry flavored, so apparently Cherry is going to be popular with him.
He's sleeping sooooo much better. Mostly it's up once a night, and his really bad nights are few and far between. He falls asleep around 8:30 and gets up sometime between 1 and 3:30. (before 2 is Kasey's time and after 2 is mine, so we each encourage him to wake up on our off time. :) Then around 6 is morning time, though sometimes as early as 5. He doesn't have a great nap schedule yet - he's more of a 'been up for 2 hours, so it's time to sleep again', though he does generally take a nap around 3 and a short sleep around 6 at night.
Edward's still a momma's boy, and loves it when mom holds him and spoils him. He also likes to be sung to, which I am happy to do for him often. We have music and practice rolling over time every evening. He likes the songs with hand motions best, but he also has a healthy appreciation of country music and some good classical songs (Missouri Waltz is one of his favorites).
He's "talking" to us a lot. His noises are very fun, and he loves to babble back at us and hold his own version of a conversation. You can tell he's really happy when he's talking a lot. He's still growing like a weed, mostly around the tummy. He's just over 18 pounds now. He also loves soft things against his face. He's a big fan of the puppets Aunt Kim made, and his burp cloths.
I know I don't have everything, but that's at least an update. I'll try to do one of these a month with the big things that are happening in his life at that time. I'll shoot for right around the 10th of the month so it stays good and consistent. :)
And, in addition to the pictures of just Edward, we have to share our newest family picture. This is Edward's cousin Mary, who cam and visited with us this weekend. She and Edward had fun together!!
