Good morning everyone! Last night was without question one of Edward's best nights. We've really been struggling with his night times, and on the advice of my doctor, we picked up a book to help us out. The book is really a combination of feeding scheduling and the flexibility of making sure he's never hungry. It involves just a little bit of "cry it out", in that we need to make sure we let him attempt to soothe himself rather than just jumping to the rescue the instant he makes a noise. It also makes a huge point that I should not, under any circumstances, let Edward fall asleep nursing.
We semi followed the directions, and added a bit of our own thoughts and ideas into it. The end result was a good day with an Edward who was largely content, and a marvelous night where he woke up only once, ate and went back to sleep. He also slept in his room for the first night since he came home, as opposed to the living room. I got to sleep in the same bed with Kasey rather than he and I just passing in the night. It was a success for all involved.
Now I know not all nights are good ones and one good night doesn't mean they will all be from here on out, but it sure was nice to have a good one. :)
