<br />
Edward is both a full fledged toddler and early started on his terrible 2's. He's definitely keeping us all hopping. :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2Vfw4mrvmWM/Tm0o5Y6bn5I/AAAAAAAAAX0/bk_Ch-H8ccM/s1600/WP_000741.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br />
</a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Lz7zqTftz0Q/Tm0o7YgRPXI/AAAAAAAAAYE/8Im-no4Q52g/s1600/WP_000818.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Lz7zqTftz0Q/Tm0o7YgRPXI/AAAAAAAAAYE/8Im-no4Q52g/s320/WP_000818.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Edward absolutely loves going outside. He doesn't care if it's out back, out front, a walk to the car, a stroller ride or going out to check the mail. If it involves a door and him on the other side of it, it's a definite hit.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2Vfw4mrvmWM/Tm0o5Y6bn5I/AAAAAAAAAX0/bk_Ch-H8ccM/s1600/WP_000741.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2Vfw4mrvmWM/Tm0o5Y6bn5I/AAAAAAAAAX0/bk_Ch-H8ccM/s320/WP_000741.jpg" width="240" /></a></div> He's not yet ready to give up his pacifier or his "blankie". Thankfully for us, his blankie is a cloth diaper, and we have about 20 of them. He uses both to sleep for naps and at night, and if he wakes up without one or the other, he's ticked.<br />

Unfortunately for us, he sleeps the way he moves while he's awake - all over the place. So he wakes up without his pacifier a lot.<br />

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BetbIcmEBAM/Tm0o6ISbXqI/AAAAAAAAAX8/oBfxUhLd8Z4/s1600/WP_000765.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a>He has passed walking and is now into full on running. His head still gets ahead of his feet at times, and we've had a few head bumps as a result. These, however, do not upset him nearly as much as the word "no". If you want a sure-fire way to set off a tantrum at our house, I recommend that word. It's volatile around here. <br />
<br />
He has started talking, though he prefers gestures and other body language still. His favorite thing to do, as Emalee learned this weekend, is to take your hand, get you going, then walk away and expect you to follow him to his destination. He will, however, look back to make sure you are still there.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BetbIcmEBAM/Tm0o6ISbXqI/AAAAAAAAAX8/oBfxUhLd8Z4/s1600/WP_000765.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BetbIcmEBAM/Tm0o6ISbXqI/AAAAAAAAAX8/oBfxUhLd8Z4/s320/WP_000765.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />

He is constantly on the move, and fascinated by and interested in EVERYTHING. Nothing that is visible is safe from his curious gaze. He is particularly fascinated by electronics. He also loves anything that his brother is doing, and wants to be involved.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
As for words, Edward has a lot of them. We were worried for a bit, because he just wasn't talking, but he is making up for it now. He's just insatiable when it comes to words. He wants to know what every picture is, wants to touch each letter and have us confirm what they are. And if you get it wrong, he will keep pointing until you say what he expects you to have said. There is no slacking on labels at our house. :) His favorites are currently "go", "no", "bye", "daddy", "daisy", "boots", "duck" (referring to Donald). Mom doesn't get her own label, but he's still a mommy's boy by and large, so that's ok.<br />
<br />
Adding more pictures for those who have not been getting their Edward fix - enjoy!<br />

So I think we all know I could never make a career out of blogging. I'm just not frequent enough. Unfortunately for all of you, that means you have to wait to get updates on our adorable little Edward. Kim actually threatened to call Grandma to get her to ask for an update. She plays dirty. :)<br />
<br />
So anyway . . . now on to the parts you all want to see.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dzinlLFcVlrQjlNW_0gsxsEb3_udr-up9qu0Qrr7rzIdHQdGdzEvcIK8G5THtbY4G4UjBqSEN1h4OL5awsZ0w' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><br />
<div align="center" class="separator" style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Our little crawler is no more - he's now a WALKER!! Over the last weekend, he went nuts on the walking, and he is just amazing at it now. He only crawls when he falls down and is on tile with his socks (can't get the foot purchase to get back up), or when the front door opens up and he wants to get there fast!!<br />
<br />
He's also in his explore everything phase, and it's so much fun to watch - as well as a bit scary at times. It's fun to watch his attention span though. He has the attention span of . . . well a 14 month old. :)<br />

Since I'll have to publish another March one (I don't think Kim will let me call this the March post) I'm going to end this here. Everyone enjoy their Edward fix!Nikki Khttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01450222494932156409noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2888796517391489356.post-40195043141207324832011-01-22T19:54:00.000-07:002011-01-22T19:54:54.717-07:00First Steps!!<div style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TTuW2IAqCsI/AAAAAAAAAWo/pRQ7hGIPA2E/s1600/DSC03989.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" s5="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TTuW2IAqCsI/AAAAAAAAAWo/pRQ7hGIPA2E/s320/DSC03989.JPG" width="300" /></a>Edward has been working on standing (ok, so we've been working on standing with him) for the last few weeks. He is getting pretty good at balancing for a few seconds at a time. Kasey even managed a picture this week.<br />
<br />
He is even doing a good job at this point of balancing himself when he starts to fall, so he stays up a little bit longer each time. He's to the point now where he'll stand up and then let go, where a few days ago we had to let go of him.<br />
<br />
It's actually really cute because every time we let go of him, or get ready to, he gets all giggly and has trouble because he's too excited. Edward is definitely an adrenaline junkie, but that's a story for another time. :)</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TTuW3JKIINI/AAAAAAAAAWs/rzwfM_ge7_k/s1600/DSC03988.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="286" s5="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TTuW3JKIINI/AAAAAAAAAWs/rzwfM_ge7_k/s320/DSC03988.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
So today when we were helping him stand, Kasey had ahold of him and he was facing me. Kasey let go, and Edward took 3 distinct flat-footed steps before he toppled toward me. Now this is different from what he's done up till now, where he falls and his feet help break his fall. These were purposeful steps.<br />
<br />
I turned him around, let go, and he fell forward and Kasey caught him. He may have taken a step, but it was that "break my fall" type of step. Kasey turned him around again, and he took three more flat-footed steps toward me. We both decided this counts as first step! Of course, both times he got lots of praise and hugs, which he absolutely adores!!</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">Obviously, no pictures, since we were both involved in keeping him upright. :) We'll work on pictures for a later date, but I just had to share today's major milestone!!</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">In other fun news, Edward had his first taste of chicken nugget today, and he thought it was pretty good. </div>Nikki Khttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01450222494932156409noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2888796517391489356.post-14168836733726692092011-01-15T19:44:00.000-07:002011-01-15T19:44:25.611-07:00Edward and gigglesSo I keep meaning to post an update for Edward's monthly "growth" but I so haven't gotten around to it. Ironically enough, this is also not that post. :)<br />
<br />
However, you can all thank Kasey for being quick with the video camera. Edward and I got into an impromptu game of peek-a-boo (basically Edward was crawling around the footstool and I showed up on the other side and sent him into a fit of giggles). Since this went on for a bit, Kasey grabbed the camera and caught it on video. Because of that, I have video to share! So as I said, thank Kasey. :)<br />
<br />
I have this amazing video camera and software that allows still shots to come from video, so I picked a few frames out for pictures to include. Kasey says it's too bad Edward doesn't like me at all. :)<br />

He so loves people, and can be such a ham!!</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">But on to the pictures, which I know is what everyone really wants. :)</div><br />
<br />
<br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Standing up is one of his new favorite activities. Would you believe that the TV stand is the best place in the house for this? We tend to disagree, but Edward assures us it's perfect!</div></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />

</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Here's our typical chair picture. He's getting so huge, and you can really see that in this picture. </div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Because of that, I decided we need to add a new picture to the list, so we took this next one.</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TQqmTi7v3KI/AAAAAAAAAUE/EeAergS6BEk/s1600/DSC03686.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" n4="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TQqmTi7v3KI/AAAAAAAAAUE/EeAergS6BEk/s320/DSC03686.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />

</div><br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">And as you can see, he's oh so proud of himself!</div><br />

Here's Edward (and Andrew) in motion. Hope you enjoy it. <br />
<br />
As an aside, we love our little video camera. It's called a Flip Video, and it's so very convenient and small. I can upload the videos directly to the computer. It only holds an hour of video, so it wouldn't be good for a musical or anything, but for around the house, it's perfect!<br />
<br />
The first is Edward's infamous crawl. My flip share software let me put music over the video, so you don't have to listen to us talking in the background. This is pretty typical of how Edward crawls, but he's a lot faster now then he was when we took this video.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dy9El1TrxLWdI9OuI7_LJZsPcNoEJEXO37NtS87ZVojO5xBasgC0-Ti5_4tlpK55qgVnH9-CFwYYVN7qXRSEA' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><br />
<br />
The second video is from last night, and is Andrew and Edward playing "tag" for lack of a better word. Mostly Andrew ran circles around Edward, but he didn't mind at all. I thought the music oddly appropriate - both because it feels like a chase and because in Phoenix this weekend was the Nascar race. It was a lot of fun to watch.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dyrzHt5liQ-TddJV9raSelyOwU7B9-Azm1AOA-QR7GmUhzMv5E_JT9ES5y05o_XCkgO8Q2wmH48CSKw_reycw' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>Nikki Khttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01450222494932156409noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2888796517391489356.post-71002800864099423502010-11-14T13:55:00.000-07:002010-11-14T13:55:36.911-07:0011 months oldCan you all believe Edward is already 11 months old? The time just seems to fly by, and I can't believe we're already talking about what to do for his first birthday party. This has truly been a month of milestones for Edward.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBLhQgMuI/AAAAAAAAATE/Dv0gB-hQztw/s1600/DSC03475.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBLhQgMuI/AAAAAAAAATE/Dv0gB-hQztw/s320/DSC03475.JPG" width="313" /></a>He is now, officially, mobile on his own! While not strictly crawling, Edward has his own way of maneuvering around the house. It's this combination crawl, walk, scoot thing. He uses both hands, one knee, and one foot. It's tremendously hard to describe, but looks adorable and hard all at once. When I described it at work, one of my coworkers said her daughter used to do something similar when she was trying to crawl while wearing a dress, so if you've ever seen that, it's close, but in shorts. :)<br />
<br />
This means, of course, that he's into everything, and all sorts of trouble. But it's just so cute to see him navigating the floor! (Kasey really still wishes he had held off until after Christmas, but that was never terribly likely.)<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBJkpl6NI/AAAAAAAAAS4/f91YYlIbay8/s1600/DSC03461.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBJkpl6NI/AAAAAAAAAS4/f91YYlIbay8/s200/DSC03461.JPG" width="195" /></a></div><br />
This is one of those "trouble" pictures, where he was just a few feet from cords, so I was holding my breath while taking the picture. He's just fascinated with my chair. It has lots of moving parts, and he loves anything he can make move.<br />

We love this little outfit on him. He just looks so sweet, and like he is a little future farmer. :)<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: right;"></div> I had some fun cropping the one on the right and blurring everything but Edward. He was intent on his books that day. He loves books, and we love that.<br />

<br />
He has a spinning top that he absolutely adores. I'm pretty sure the top came from Aunt Kim as well. He can't make it spin in the traditional manner, but he loves to hold it, swing it, and he really adores us making it spin for him.<br />

Isn't he just a cutie?? I have lots of pictures for today, so you'll get way more pictures than words. And hey, who really wants to read my words when they can look at the adorable boy anyway, right?<br />

It's a forbidden room full of treasures galore! If Andrew leaves his bedroom door open, he considers it fair game. One of the times he got in, he came out with one of Andrew's fire engines. It makes noise!!<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
Does he not look like he knows he has something that doesn't belong to him? He is one happy kid with this toy.<br />

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBY-G5BhI/AAAAAAAAAT4/cHqptnqbiJU/s1600/Tigger.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBY-G5BhI/AAAAAAAAAT4/cHqptnqbiJU/s320/Tigger.JPG" width="246" /></a><br />

This made him look more like a tiger, but he didn't mind. He got more candy than he can eat (especially since he doesn't eat candy), and he enjoyed chewing on the box of Dots that the first place insisted on giving him.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBERQ_CjI/AAAAAAAAASg/Vq6Y2OFrZw0/s1600/DSC03395.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBERQ_CjI/AAAAAAAAASg/Vq6Y2OFrZw0/s320/DSC03395.JPG" width="230" /></a></div>We got him a Mickey Mouse halloween hat, and he looks just adorable in it.<br />
<br />
He preferred playing with it to wearing it, but I got a few pictures, so I was happy.<br />

<br />
This is just another picture of Edward enjoying being mobile. He really is all over the place. <br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBKODz9xI/AAAAAAAAAS8/86H9WDoReUg/s1600/DSC03468.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="188" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBKODz9xI/AAAAAAAAAS8/86H9WDoReUg/s200/DSC03468.JPG" width="200" /></a><br />
And the one on the right is my two little guys in their pajamas, just before bedtime. I love this picture!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBPRNJuQI/AAAAAAAAATY/-NY-ZYWddFA/s1600/DSC03484.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBPRNJuQI/AAAAAAAAATY/-NY-ZYWddFA/s200/DSC03484.JPG" width="198" /></a> The highlight of this month actually occurred last night. We took both boys outside to the back yard to play, with Edward in his walker and wearing shoes (this boy almost never wears shoes, and he didn't like it at all until he realized he was going "out"). Mobile has a whole new meaning outside, and he had a total blast.<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBQneTX8I/AAAAAAAAATc/gGecdx29mBM/s1600/DSC03486.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBQneTX8I/AAAAAAAAATc/gGecdx29mBM/s320/DSC03486.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
But as fun as it is being outside, it's much more fun when your brother comes out to play. From watching Andrew on the trampoline<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBRme5doI/AAAAAAAAATg/4a3lR4AF3nk/s1600/DSC03497.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBRme5doI/AAAAAAAAATg/4a3lR4AF3nk/s320/DSC03497.JPG" width="269" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
to chasing him around the patio, Andrew is by far the best entertainment that Edward can have.<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBSsA5qxI/AAAAAAAAATk/ywtK2PHPaSc/s1600/DSC03499.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="218" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBSsA5qxI/AAAAAAAAATk/ywtK2PHPaSc/s320/DSC03499.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Of course Andrew thought it was hilarious he could run from his brother, and Edward only caught him a few times. (Really wish we had a picture of that event, but we were too busy playing referee when that happened.)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBTR7ON-I/AAAAAAAAATo/syrmdm64L-o/s1600/DSC03502.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="314" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TOBBTR7ON-I/AAAAAAAAATo/syrmdm64L-o/s320/DSC03502.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />

He's getting bigger and bigger compared to this chair. And he loves being in the chair - so he can try and climb out of it.<br />
<br />
Just look at the face of that boy. There is some serious mischief on his face. I'm totally blaming that look on Kasey, because we all know I'm sweet and innocent, right? :)<br />
<br />
I did, however, manage to get two pictures of him sitting as opposed to climbing out of the chair. Well worth the wait. <br />
<br />

Hope everyone enjoyed the Edward update. I'm working on how to get video on my blog, so when I pull that off, you can see him moving!!Nikki Khttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01450222494932156409noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2888796517391489356.post-30730224257639057062010-10-10T13:16:00.000-07:002010-10-10T13:16:53.653-07:00Dada, Mama, Baba, pbst!!!!!<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIctjLuF6I/AAAAAAAAAR8/LLCdvI2hPFs/s1600/DSC03275.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="249" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIctjLuF6I/AAAAAAAAAR8/LLCdvI2hPFs/s320/DSC03275.JPG" width="320" /></a>Well as you can tell from the title, Edward is discovering words! He definitely means mom when he says mama. As for the rest of the words, the jury is still out on their meaning. I tease Kasey that Edward tells on him every night, but dada seems to mean whatever he's interested in at the moment.<br />
<br />
He is still refusing to crawl, but boy is he trying hard to walk. He'll stretch all the way forward to his hands and knees, but if he still can't reach something, he rolls over, or sits back and finds something else to play with. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIcoCwgUdI/AAAAAAAAARo/miZd33iBJiA/s1600/DSC03228.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="253" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIcoCwgUdI/AAAAAAAAARo/miZd33iBJiA/s320/DSC03228.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Don't let that fool you into thinking he's sitting still though. He is all sorts of mobile! From his walker, which he loves tremendously, to his ability to scoot around on his bottom, Edward gets around just fine. <br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIcxIITSRI/AAAAAAAAASE/Ga0bSrmERaI/s1600/DSC03283.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIcxIITSRI/AAAAAAAAASE/Ga0bSrmERaI/s320/DSC03283.JPG" width="292" /></a>Kasey is still hoping he'll hold off being mobile until after Christmas, but I think he's dreaming. Edward absolutely LOVES to pull up on people or things. He walks very well if you hold onto his fingers and let him move. He's still not willing to move himself along objects yet, but it's coming very very soon.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIcrts8RVI/AAAAAAAAAR0/DGJLLSJrTNI/s1600/DSC03268.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIcrts8RVI/AAAAAAAAAR0/DGJLLSJrTNI/s200/DSC03268.JPG" width="200" /></a>Does this look like the face of a little boy who wants to sit still? I don't think so either!! hehe<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIcxIITSRI/AAAAAAAAASE/Ga0bSrmERaI/s1600/DSC03283.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIcxIITSRI/AAAAAAAAASE/Ga0bSrmERaI/s1600/DSC03283.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a></div><br />

Edward thinks Andrew's room is the coolest place in the house. If Andrew is within viewing or hearing range, he has Edward's undivided attention, which is impressive, since Edward's attention is mostly divided these days. Andrew likes to play with Edward, and to torment him. They are very typical brothers, and it's fun to watch.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIcnJD_fII/AAAAAAAAARk/JXIjBL_-S70/s1600/IMG00119.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIcnJD_fII/AAAAAAAAARk/JXIjBL_-S70/s320/IMG00119.jpg" width="320" /></a></div> We had the Autism Zoo Walk in October, and Edward thought that was a perfectly fun walk. Of course, he didn't do much walking, as you can see here. :) <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />

The first thing Edward wanted to do when I put him on Grandpa's chair was to climb right off, as you can see here.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIczZPIa6I/AAAAAAAAASM/TgfvZW9O7FQ/s1600/DSC03290.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIczZPIa6I/AAAAAAAAASM/TgfvZW9O7FQ/s320/DSC03290.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> I tried this a few times, and did manage to get him sitting more than climbing out, but just barely. :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIc0zy-z4I/AAAAAAAAASQ/UwJVCwH1Dvc/s1600/DSC03291.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIc0zy-z4I/AAAAAAAAASQ/UwJVCwH1Dvc/s320/DSC03291.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />

<br />
We managed to escape without any bumps or bruises, which we're all grateful for.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIcvAgYOdI/AAAAAAAAASA/rLSdGIqui2U/s1600/DSC03282.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIcvAgYOdI/AAAAAAAAASA/rLSdGIqui2U/s320/DSC03282.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIc3VUkt9I/AAAAAAAAASY/6uoVZfCKZk4/s1600/IMG00103.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TLIc3VUkt9I/AAAAAAAAASY/6uoVZfCKZk4/s320/IMG00103.jpg" width="320" /></a><br />

<br />
Playhouse Disney is a staple around our house right now, and while Edward doesn't focus on it a whole lot, he likes having the noise in the background. <br />

He's a music fanatic, and has definite preferences in music. I love that his favorite music is what I sing, and Kasey has gotten him firmly ingrained in country music. He only sleeps to Craig Morgan. We've just been too busy enjoying him to stop and post about it. :)<br />
<br />
So I have lots of pictures as a peace offering, plus a bit of an update on how he's doing. :)<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TI1VQ1CroII/AAAAAAAAAQU/vGkeDOglBUE/s1600/DSC03071.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TI1VQ1CroII/AAAAAAAAAQU/vGkeDOglBUE/s320/DSC03071.JPG" /></a><br />
Edward just hit 9 months old on Friday. He utterly refuses to even attempt to crawl, largely because he won't stay on his stomach long enough to get his legs up under him. When you put Edward on his belly he flips over to his back and starts to kick. And BOY, can this kid kick!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TI1VZ2dZwXI/AAAAAAAAARM/SQ5i7hFNV6A/s1600/DSC03223.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TI1VZ2dZwXI/AAAAAAAAARM/SQ5i7hFNV6A/s320/DSC03223.JPG" /></a></div><br />
<br />
He loves his walker, and can navigate pretty much anywhere that thing will fit. Thankfully it's too wide to make it into the bathroom and too low to use on the rugs of the bedrooms. That keeps him pretty manageable.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TI1VTuUsuzI/AAAAAAAAAQk/uMk6zWqIsq0/s1600/DSC03101.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TI1VTuUsuzI/AAAAAAAAAQk/uMk6zWqIsq0/s320/DSC03101.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TI1VWzzR63I/AAAAAAAAAQ8/g_HYdwry5p8/s1600/DSC03180.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TI1VWzzR63I/AAAAAAAAAQ8/g_HYdwry5p8/s320/DSC03180.JPG" /></a></div><br />
He really wants to walk, aside from in his walker. He loves to take steps while you hold onto his hands, and if he's sitting and you get within range, he'll pull himself up while holding onto us. At this point he's way too easily distracted to actually stay standing, and if he's holding onto something or someone and sees something interesting, he lets go, turns, and plops. He'll get there though.<br />
<br />
Edward is absolutely fascinated with "real food". He wants anything on our plates, and if you leave food within reach, he'll take it and put it in his mouth. Then again, if you leave anything non-food in his reach, that goes in his mouth also.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TI1VSLB2uCI/AAAAAAAAAQc/Sg44ql6LGQE/s1600/DSC03088.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TI1VSLB2uCI/AAAAAAAAAQc/Sg44ql6LGQE/s320/DSC03088.JPG" /></a>He's babbling like a champ. Lots of sounds, his favorite of which is "dada". So when I get home at the end of the day, I get a full report from Edward about "dada". It's adorable.<br />

Edward has had a wonderful month in the pool. We got a new float a few weeks ago, and Andrew shared it with his brother long enough for a picture. Kasey joked that he didn't know how I would crop myself out of this one, and he was right. I can't find a way, so I'm stuck in the picture. :)<br />

Turning pages is fun, and this book he's looking at now has "mirrors" on all the pages, which is just great. We got these taken at a place called Portrait Innovations. We've done pictures there before, and I highly recommend them. Lots of pictures to choose from, and reasonable cost. They took 85 pictures that we got to choose from, and then I got a disk of all the pictures to share online. Very good deal for us!<br />

The time sure has flown by. Edward is a happy, growing boy who is still big for his age, though he seems to have slowed down a bit for us in the weight department. He's still not sleeping well at night, which is keeping us way more awake than we'd like, but he's just so darn cute!!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TD0MCSAApdI/AAAAAAAAAO0/wEUK6XTMJK0/s1600/DSC02933.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TD0MCSAApdI/AAAAAAAAAO0/wEUK6XTMJK0/s320/DSC02933.JPG" /></a></div>He's having a very good time checking out all his surroundings too, so nothing is safe at our house. <br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TD0MEKbb34I/AAAAAAAAAO8/Rf2PL2Y9CPA/s1600/DSC02938.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TD0MEKbb34I/AAAAAAAAAO8/Rf2PL2Y9CPA/s320/DSC02938.JPG" /></a></div>He and his brother still love one another tremendously, and it makes for some very fun experiences. They are just absolutely fascinated with each other.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TD0MFkIy-4I/AAAAAAAAAPE/k_poO1bz8hk/s1600/DSC02953.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TD0MFkIy-4I/AAAAAAAAAPE/k_poO1bz8hk/s320/DSC02953.JPG" /></a>In other news, today Edward's first tooth broke through. It's his bottom right front tooth, but his left front tooth isn't far behind. I actually predicted the left one would make it through first, but apparently I was wrong. Right now it's just two dots on his gum line, but it's there. If you ask Edward, I'm sure he'd tell you he's ready for steak now. :)<br />

<br />
I tried to get him to show off that new little tooth for us, but he didn't want to share, so all we got were funny faces. They're pretty cute though, and we'll take what we can get.Nikki Khttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01450222494932156409noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2888796517391489356.post-70674006927050529672010-06-27T19:48:00.000-07:002010-06-27T19:48:56.642-07:00First trip to the Mall Play AreaIt's time for another Edward update. He's doing an amazing job sitting now, and really likes to stand up, though he can't support himself at all in standing. He leans well though. :)<br />
<br />
In addition, he's totally got rolling over. Of course, that's mostly because he hates his stomach, so when you put him on his stomach, he flips to his back. Hey, we'll take what we can get.<br />
<br />
Today we took the boys to the mall way before it opened and let them play at the Play Area. They both had a blast! Here are some pictures of Edward and sometimes Andrew. :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TCgMRuDKieI/AAAAAAAAAN8/-iJBhFO_7F0/s1600/DSC02878.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TCgMRuDKieI/AAAAAAAAAN8/-iJBhFO_7F0/s320/DSC02878.JPG" /></a></div>Here he is with mom at the top of the slide. You can tell he has no idea what's coming. :)<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TCgMTiVLgVI/AAAAAAAAAOE/p0JdGjHOBMM/s1600/DSC02879.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TCgMTiVLgVI/AAAAAAAAAOE/p0JdGjHOBMM/s320/DSC02879.JPG" /></a></div>Now he's at the bottom watching his brother follow him down. Looking at this picture, I can almost see him saying "Hey, I'm not out of the way yet!". :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TCgMV_GzDuI/AAAAAAAAAOU/ZoK6p7hyHY8/s1600/DSC02895.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TCgMV_GzDuI/AAAAAAAAAOU/ZoK6p7hyHY8/s320/DSC02895.JPG" /></a></div>Look at all of us up on the bridge. Edward was way too fascinated by everything else to look at the camera.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TCgMVGM5_gI/AAAAAAAAAOM/5PbSdCdaMYU/s1600/DSC02891.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TCgMVGM5_gI/AAAAAAAAAOM/5PbSdCdaMYU/s320/DSC02891.JPG" /></a></div>Wow, something to help prop me up!! This one is just the right height.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TCgMW2MLL1I/AAAAAAAAAOc/VPcB4keP-YA/s1600/DSC02899.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TCgMW2MLL1I/AAAAAAAAAOc/VPcB4keP-YA/s320/DSC02899.JPG" /></a></div>Andrew liked this one too, and they had fun playing together, can't you tell?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TCgMX9-1eGI/AAAAAAAAAOk/XbdZykE0NTc/s1600/DSC02907.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TCgMX9-1eGI/AAAAAAAAAOk/XbdZykE0NTc/s320/DSC02907.JPG" /></a></div>This was probably the most fun picture we took. Another mom at the play area helped get Edward's attention, and if you look closely, you can see me hiding behind Edward propping him up. <br />
<br />
As you can tell, the boys had a very good time in the play area. Looks like we'll have to make more early morning trips for them. Our little one (or as Emalee calls him, Small Stuff), is 6 months old as of yesterday. <span style="color: red;">The occasion had to be marked with lots of pictures. :)</span> Here are just some shots of Edward, all of which have been taken in the last week (and lots were taken today). Edward is getting more used to the camera, so it interrupts his play much less often. Good news for me, because I get more action shots that way. :)</span><br />

I thought I would start out with Edward's two great accomplishments, both of which happened this evening. The first was, Edward rolled from his back to his tummy! He actually did this multiple times, once on the bed, once on the bedroom floor, and once on the living room floor. I'd say we've mastered this trick. :)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TAXOK-SlDTI/AAAAAAAAALs/k4M1wGsMSPw/s1600/DSC02699.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TAXOK-SlDTI/AAAAAAAAALs/k4M1wGsMSPw/s320/DSC02699.JPG" /></a>The other one is a fun one. Edward found his feet - with his mouth. :)<br />
<br />
This is just such a fun picture. He had a really great time sucking on his toes, and just looked so cute doing so, don't you think?<br />
<br />
This is part of a growing trend on Edward's part of recognizing objects and wanting to put them in his mouth. If it's brightly colored, backlit (the cell phones and ipod are no longer safe), different than its background (Kasey and Emalee's glasses were especially fun to grab for), or noticeable in any way, Edward wants to grab and put into his mouth. He's getting better and better at reaching accurately for items and once he has a grip, in they go!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TAXOMmgRmDI/AAAAAAAAAL0/J0hXxRTa0UY/s1600/DSC02700.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TAXOMmgRmDI/AAAAAAAAAL0/J0hXxRTa0UY/s320/DSC02700.JPG" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TAXPQur4bWI/AAAAAAAAAME/tW_XE85fI3Y/s1600/DSC02691.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TAXPQur4bWI/AAAAAAAAAME/tW_XE85fI3Y/s320/DSC02691.JPG" /></a></div>In other news, Grandma Thelma came to visit, and she and Edward got to know one another. <br />
<br />
Edward has stranger issues, and as much as Grandma loves him, he just wasn't too sure about this new person in his life. <br />
<br />
It's rough when everyone loves you and wants to pick you up!! Oh the trials and tribulations of being adorable. :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TAXPne5FAcI/AAAAAAAAAMM/2_u-t_MRewk/s1600/DSC02637.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/TAXPne5FAcI/AAAAAAAAAMM/2_u-t_MRewk/s320/DSC02637.JPG" /></a></div><br />
On the other hand, he was totally comfortable with Emalee. Don't they just look cute sitting together watching TV? I have been taking pictures still! (In fact, Andrew took the camera away from me a few days ago.)<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S-4PjTy5n8I/AAAAAAAAAK8/cNYKHcJbXEs/s1600/DSC02484.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="253" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S-4PjTy5n8I/AAAAAAAAAK8/cNYKHcJbXEs/s320/DSC02484.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
Here are some update pictures of our adorable little 5 month old. Can you believe he's that big already??<br />
<br />
He has a few new wonderful tricks to share with everyone. Edward is sitting up more and more, and can support himself for short periods of time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S-4PtMGLCsI/AAAAAAAAALc/ceDI2EDAeN4/s1600/DSC02499.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S-4PtMGLCsI/AAAAAAAAALc/ceDI2EDAeN4/s320/DSC02499.JPG" /></a></div>He's also found his feet, and finds them just fascinating!!<br />
<br />
In addition to that, he's hit the 20 pound mark (according to Wii Fit, which has a surprisingly good system to store his weight and the changes in it)<br />
<br />
He is learning how to reach for specific things, which includes mouths, ears, and he can get a great grip on Andrew's hair. Andrew doesn't seem to mind though - in fact, he purposely turns his head to see if Edward will repeat that little trick. Edward and Andrew are still buddies. In fact, as Edward is more and more aware, he finds his older brother just absolutely fascinating. It's fun to watch the two of them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S-4PuRgnXhI/AAAAAAAAALk/uuPdFlMUhtE/s1600/DSC02512.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S-4PuRgnXhI/AAAAAAAAALk/uuPdFlMUhtE/s320/DSC02512.JPG" /></a></div><br />
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S-4Pkv6a5mI/AAAAAAAAALE/I4GiWo-bJ_A/s1600/DSC02493.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S-4Pkv6a5mI/AAAAAAAAALE/I4GiWo-bJ_A/s320/DSC02493.JPG" /></a>Edward has a new favorite way to fall asleep now. He likes to be stomach to stomach with either Kasey or myself, with his head on our shoulder. It works really well for me, but is a bit more challenging for Kasey. He has a longer torso, so he has to work harder to support Edward that way than I do.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S-4Pl_bw63I/AAAAAAAAALM/805Y0d2V37w/s1600/DSC02497.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S-4Pl_bw63I/AAAAAAAAALM/805Y0d2V37w/s320/DSC02497.JPG" /></a></div><br />
All in all, our cute little guy is growing and happy! He's finding his sense of humor, and everything that we say is funny to him right now. His laugh is almost as adorable as his smile.Nikki Khttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01450222494932156409noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2888796517391489356.post-38001298631839844292010-04-21T09:14:00.000-07:002010-04-21T09:14:40.337-07:00I WILL roll over . . . sometime<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S88jBTKaD4I/AAAAAAAAAKc/4euK-6l_1tw/s1600/DSC02380.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S88jBTKaD4I/AAAAAAAAAKc/4euK-6l_1tw/s320/DSC02380.JPG" /></a></div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S88jAM3GMgI/AAAAAAAAAKU/TTmxsmNI7v4/s1600/DSC02379.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S88jAM3GMgI/AAAAAAAAAKU/TTmxsmNI7v4/s320/DSC02379.JPG" /></a><br />
Here are some pictures of Edward trying to roll over. He doesn't quite have it down yet, but he's working on it. <br />
<br />
He's figured out how to roll from his back to his side, but the rest of the way is pretty tough.<br />
<br />
Kasey says it would be easier for him if he didn't insist on having his hand in his mouth. I agree it might make it hard to roll over with your arm and elbow in the way. :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S88j0U3LtUI/AAAAAAAAAKk/S7Qpmaqw_Xw/s1600/DSC02384.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S88j0U3LtUI/AAAAAAAAAKk/S7Qpmaqw_Xw/s320/DSC02384.JPG" /></a></div>Besides, when it comes right down to it, Edward doesn't really like being on his stomach. I've decided we need to work on rolling from tummy to back, because there's motivation in that one - assuming he doesn't get too upset. <br />
<br />
We obviously need more practice. :)Nikki Khttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01450222494932156409noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2888796517391489356.post-35587537259315969682010-04-08T19:31:00.000-07:002010-04-08T19:31:27.444-07:00What Edward's up toSo today at work a coworker told me "I haven't been to your blog in a while, so how's Edward doing?"<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S76QxhPUtNI/AAAAAAAAAJY/I0t7DNHDqEo/s1600/DSC02370.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S76QxhPUtNI/AAAAAAAAAJY/I0t7DNHDqEo/s320/DSC02370.JPG" /></a></div>And it made me realize that while I have posted pictures and moments, I haven't done a status update. So with Edward about to be 4 months old, this is a good time for a status update, don't you think?<br />
<br />
Edward's trying very hard to roll over from his back to his tummy. He can kick his feet and get over onto his side, but he can't make it the rest of the way yet. Of course, he hates being on his stomach, so when he pulls it off, it's likely to make him very mad. :) Oh yes, and he's sitting up much better. Of course, he still needs to lean against something, and he falls over pretty easily, but he can stay upright by himself for a bit on a couch or chair.<br />
<br />
He is teething, which means chewing on everything he can get into his mouth and drooling like mad. Generally he takes it pretty well, but sometimes the pain gets to him and he really appreciates the Tylenol that takes the edge off. Interestingly enough, he loves the taste of Tylenol. It's Cherry flavored, so apparently Cherry is going to be popular with him.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S76Qv7aosXI/AAAAAAAAAJQ/0A3YJosFtE8/s1600/DSC02364.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S76Qv7aosXI/AAAAAAAAAJQ/0A3YJosFtE8/s320/DSC02364.JPG" width="240" /></a>He's sleeping sooooo much better. Mostly it's up once a night, and his really bad nights are few and far between. He falls asleep around 8:30 and gets up sometime between 1 and 3:30. (before 2 is Kasey's time and after 2 is mine, so we each encourage him to wake up on our off time. :) Then around 6 is morning time, though sometimes as early as 5. He doesn't have a great nap schedule yet - he's more of a 'been up for 2 hours, so it's time to sleep again', though he does generally take a nap around 3 and a short sleep around 6 at night.<br />
<br />
Edward's still a momma's boy, and loves it when mom holds him and spoils him. He also likes to be sung to, which I am happy to do for him often. We have music and practice rolling over time every evening. He likes the songs with hand motions best, but he also has a healthy appreciation of country music and some good classical songs (Missouri Waltz is one of his favorites).<br />
<br />
He's "talking" to us a lot. His noises are very fun, and he loves to babble back at us and hold his own version of a conversation. You can tell he's really happy when he's talking a lot. He's still growing like a weed, mostly around the tummy. He's just over 18 pounds now. He also loves soft things against his face. He's a big fan of the puppets Aunt Kim made, and his burp cloths. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S76Q_ShemjI/AAAAAAAAAJg/2JZ2iFXRREI/s1600/DSC02359.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S76Q_ShemjI/AAAAAAAAAJg/2JZ2iFXRREI/s320/DSC02359.JPG" /></a>I know I don't have everything, but that's at least an update. I'll try to do one of these a month with the big things that are happening in his life at that time. I'll shoot for right around the 10th of the month so it stays good and consistent. :)<br />
<br />
And, in addition to the pictures of just Edward, we have to share our newest family picture. This is Edward's cousin Mary, who cam and visited with us this weekend. She and Edward had fun together!!Nikki Khttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01450222494932156409noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2888796517391489356.post-26194489638234904092010-04-06T21:00:00.000-07:002010-04-06T21:00:18.383-07:00Happy Easter!!<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S7wCC7NmYRI/AAAAAAAAAIg/opB4m4H3poM/s1600/DSC02339.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S7wCC7NmYRI/AAAAAAAAAIg/opB4m4H3poM/s200/DSC02339.JPG" width="200" /></a>Well Edward's first Easter was a blast! Andrew helped us make cookies, and that included Edward's name (though we didn't get Edward's cookies frosted, he didn't seem to mind. Probably because he can't eat them anyway.)<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S7wCFtBbsEI/AAAAAAAAAIo/i56abmwUiuk/s1600/DSC02318.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S7wCFtBbsEI/AAAAAAAAAIo/i56abmwUiuk/s320/DSC02318.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
He was mildly interested in watching Kasey help him open up his Easter basket. Andrew helped us pick out the big blue Bunny, and Kasey picked out the chocolate. I went with the duck. :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S7wCISXgEtI/AAAAAAAAAIw/ci8t_64ZNsc/s1600/DSC02312.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S7wCISXgEtI/AAAAAAAAAIw/ci8t_64ZNsc/s320/DSC02312.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
But when left to examine his Easter presents on his own, he showed us all what he really cared about . . .<br />

She made, at my request, some puppets for Edward. She sent over two - Mortimer Mouse and Mickey Monkey. Let me tell you, it takes a lot of work for me not to call him Mickey Mouse. :)<br />
<br />
Anyway, here are a few pictures to share.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S6wVtzN75sI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/Psl6cYq88S0/s1600/DSC02252.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S6wVtzN75sI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/Psl6cYq88S0/s320/DSC02252.JPG" /></a></div><br />
Now that he has him, Edward doesn't know what to do with him. :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S6wVgkaLR-I/AAAAAAAAAIA/KCdAp7iRlv8/s1600/DSC02248.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S6wVgkaLR-I/AAAAAAAAAIA/KCdAp7iRlv8/s320/DSC02248.JPG" /></a></div><br />
Oh but it's sure fun to watch that mouse move!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S6wVpAx8UDI/AAAAAAAAAII/IsX9xqrydJk/s1600/DSC02247.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S6wVpAx8UDI/AAAAAAAAAII/IsX9xqrydJk/s320/DSC02247.JPG" /></a></div><br />
He's soooo soft to the touch. Edward really likes to feel Mortimer against his face.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S6wVzasduMI/AAAAAAAAAIY/4Cehjwe0_pg/s1600/DSC02244.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S6wVzasduMI/AAAAAAAAAIY/4Cehjwe0_pg/s320/DSC02244.JPG" /></a></div>What more do I need to say? I think this grin says it all, don't you?<br />
<br />
As you can tell, Mortimer was a hit! He liked Mickey Monkey too, but I can't work two puppets and take pictures. :)<br />
<br />
Thanks again Aunt Kim for a marvelous gift!!Nikki Khttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01450222494932156409noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2888796517391489356.post-11645460089573832892010-03-14T16:19:00.000-07:002010-03-14T16:19:58.421-07:00Edward in Grandpa's Chair<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S51o1TOpsxI/AAAAAAAAAHI/HeJ7Dg59wLA/s1600-h/DSC02142.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S51o1TOpsxI/AAAAAAAAAHI/HeJ7Dg59wLA/s320/DSC02142.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>This is going to be a picture that Edward will have to put up with me wanting to take regularly. This is Edward in his great-grandpa Ed's chair. This was grandpa's chair and now it's mine. It's tremendously comfortable and officially reclines, but the base isn't so stable right now when it reclines.<br />
<br />
He doesn't quite fill it out yet, but given time he will.<br />

We had a baby shower for Kim on Saturday, and I got some great photos of people holding Edward. After all, what's more fun at a baby shower than an actual baby??<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S5QZExcgahI/AAAAAAAAAGQ/Io-Hu1xyCtQ/s1600-h/DSC02054.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S5QZExcgahI/AAAAAAAAAGQ/Io-Hu1xyCtQ/s320/DSC02054.JPG" /></a></div>This is Grandma Koon, Kasey's mom. She hasn't had a chance to hold him in a while, and she couldn't believe how big he's gotten!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S5QZMO6RmSI/AAAAAAAAAHA/yt__8lbqCQ8/s1600-h/DSC02137.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S5QZMO6RmSI/AAAAAAAAAHA/yt__8lbqCQ8/s320/DSC02137.JPG" /></a></div>Here's Grandpa Koon (Kasey's Dad). Not sure what the two of them are looking at on the floor, but it must be interesting. :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S5QZGaVCxAI/AAAAAAAAAGY/jp3LBlEerVQ/s1600-h/DSC02066.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S5QZGaVCxAI/AAAAAAAAAGY/jp3LBlEerVQ/s320/DSC02066.JPG" /></a>Here we have the mom to be from the shower. This would be Edward's cousin - Kim. Next up is her husband Josh, who is Kasey's nephew. We all find it amusing that Edward's cousin is about to have a child who will be only a few months younger than he is. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S5QZHvKNM1I/AAAAAAAAAGg/ClElPCk8q3g/s1600-h/DSC02070.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S5QZHvKNM1I/AAAAAAAAAGg/ClElPCk8q3g/s320/DSC02070.JPG" /></a> As my grandma taught me (I was listening to those geneology lessons!), Edward and Rosalyn (Which I'm sure I misspelled) will be first cousins once removed.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S5QZKge0htI/AAAAAAAAAGw/TzRmq7WyexA/s1600-h/DSC02131.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S5QZKge0htI/AAAAAAAAAGw/TzRmq7WyexA/s320/DSC02131.JPG" /></a>I love this picture of Aunt Karen and Edward. Can you tell they like one another? :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

They had a great time looking out at the world together.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S5QZLfAux8I/AAAAAAAAAG4/u7k0Q6H1nK0/s1600-h/DSC02135+%281%29.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IMVduzs18vI/S5QZLfAux8I/AAAAAAAAAG4/u7k0Q6H1nK0/s320/DSC02135+%281%29.JPG" /></a></div>And last but not least is a great picture that Aunt Karen took of Edward and I. I am very happy to have these, since I'm usually the one behind the camera!Nikki Khttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01450222494932156409noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2888796517391489356.post-86801810474979058762010-03-06T21:24:00.000-07:002010-03-06T21:24:41.865-07:00Edward's new blanket - coming soon!Kasey's sister Kim is a major craft person, and she has made us more than one marvelous item for Edward. This is the latest in great presents that she's made, and this one is personalized just for Edward!! <br />
<br />
<a href="http://craftsbykimberlie.wordpress.com/2010/03/07/e-is-for-edward-ribbon-blanket/">E is for Edward Ribbon Blanket</a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://craftsbykimberlie.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/kims-crafts-0091.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://craftsbykimberlie.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/kims-crafts-0091.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
Based on a product by "Taggies", which makes blankets that look very similar to what Kim made (but of course Kim's is better!!), this will be a great item for Edward to play with. He loves blankets, and he loves to grab onto stuff (well he's just starting, but he grabs everything his hands can snag already, so we're sure he loves it), so this will be much used and enjoyed at our house.<br />
<br />
Thanks Kim!!Nikki Khttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01450222494932156409noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2888796517391489356.post-11991162184773855802010-03-03T21:37:00.000-07:002010-03-03T21:37:17.523-07:00New toy . . . have to play!OK, I finally have time to post the results of my Valentine's Day toy. We got a "Flip Video". It's a little camcorder that takes an hour of video. It's meant to store on the computer, but it will play on a TV without any problem. The funnest part is that it comes with software that will let me do all sorts of things, including taking "pictures" of my video! These are some Edward pictures from some Edward video that we took.<br />
<br />
I will figure out how to post video to the blog sometime soon and then you'll have something to watch move!! :)<br />

He's currently much more successful getting his fist into his mouth while holding the rings than getting the rings themselves into his mouth.<br />
